PROLOGUE:
When the day just seems to be perfect, with peace and fun, things take a turn for the worst. A massive earthquake takes over the city of Banterville, causing nothing but pain and destruction in its wake. Trent Reeds, a teenage boy must fight to survive in a galaxy of disaster. The world in which he knew much about, has turned upside-down and proves to have more secrets than he ever thought possible. After being saved by a soldier, Trent must decide to fight with a soldier academy to save the rest of the human race, or become victim of his swelling anger, and do nothing but get even. The race against time has begun, as Trent will soon find out. The Ens, a major secret kept from the humans, by the academy, gives the human race barely any hope for survival. Will Trent save the galaxy from the overwhelming threat, or will he die trying?
This is my first story anyone out of my family has ever read, so please be kind and understanding that I am a amateur, thank you lol.
I haven't re-read the story lately, so there is a chance I made huge mistakes, oh well.

Imagine living in a world with a separate country where everyone is discriminated against the rest of the world for having the perfect mentality of a psycho due to chemicals exposed and experimented on far back into the bloodline as life itself? Unlike other countries these kids are forced to be contestants in a simulation game each sorted into a sect, determination, intellect, confidence, judgment and empathy whereas those from everywhere else could buy their way out or refuse, How do you think this story will end up? a story i wrote inspired by multiple dystopian stories such as, maze runner, the hunger games, divergent and even squid games where within the story my friends are the cast.
The Broadcast
What happens when three groups of teenagers is sent in to an abandoned arena? Will they chose friendship over victory and betrayal? The galaxy is watching ¤~¤ At first, Ren thought the silence meant freedom. That the hours they spent laying in the field meant safety. The air was clean in a way it had never been before, no humming beneath the soil, no static whispering through the trees. The sky was the kind of blue you only see in dreams, soft and endless, and when she breathed, it didn't taste of iron or fear. If peace had a sound, it would have been this silence. Long ago, way before our time. A weary traveler left home to find new land for his family to thrive off of. Drought engulfed almost all of Elysium, called The Great Heat. The man traveled far and wide just to find a sign of life anywhere. It took him days and several hundred miles to find anything worth nourishment and care. He braved sand storms and blistering heat, his throat was dry and his feet could hardly carry him any farther. He collapsed onto the ground, his hands burning under the heat of the crackled ground. His vision blurred and mirages played with his suffering senses. His mind projected a tree into his line of vision, withering away but it's branches holding a single fruit. Besides his beliefs of it being a figment of his imagination, he crawled his way to it, bringing himself under the weak shade that it provided. He looked at the glistening purple fruit, what was it? He reached up to grab it, expecting it to fall through the image projected before him. His fingers wrapped around the fruit and he picked it from the branch. It was real! The fruit was real. He eagerly bit into the fruit and its juices trickled down his chin. He sat back and relaxed as the food nourished his body, he drank of its juices and picked out its many seeds, collecting them. He dug a deep hole until he felt moisture in the soil, planting the seeds into the ground. As it grew over time, the man used the old tree to build his home around the new one, tending to it religiously until it beared fruit. He brought his family and they lived there, planting trees and passing on the seeds for other places to spring life. Within five years the drought was over, Elysium was breathing again."Complete

The ruling council believes that salvation is nigh, but whether that hope arrives in time is questionable. The city's future depends upon the actions of a few individuals, all of whom are struggling with their own mortality. Quentin is the boy who dreams of death. Mia is the tortured soul. Trey is the soldier that defines duty. Misao is the future of the ruling council. Claire is the girl with a secret that will rock the foundations of their entire civilization. He was met with a sea of unfamiliar faces - teenagers, all around his age, scattered across the endless dunes. The blistering sun beat down on them, relentless in its ferocity. As the boy struggled to sit up, he noticed the mix of fear, desperation, and determination etched on the faces around him. Some were huddled in small groups, whispering among themselves, while others wandered aimlessly, searching for something - anything - that could help them survive. The boy's memories were hazy, but one thing was certain: they were trapped. There was no sign of civilization in sight, just an endless expanse of sand and rock. No buildings, no roads, no rescue in sight. Panic began to set in as the boy scrambled to his feet, joining the throngs of teenagers searching for answers. How did they get here? "I don't even know your names." "Fine. I'm Marcus, that's Peyton, Luke, and Aaliyah," he answered, gesturing toward each of us as he spoke. I could tell he didn't trust the guy, but he seemed good enough. He hadn't said anything to make us distrust him, but he also hadn't said anything to make us trust him. "Look, dude, I'm not trying to hurt you. I'm looking for something a friend told me about a few weeks ago. She said there was a whole network of teens out here, but there's a camp somewhere in Florida that gives them a place to stay. Secret, of course, and run by teens, but anyway, it seems safer than being out here and living off the land." "Wait, you mean there are more of us?" I asked. ☁ Three teenagers find themselves rejected by their families after they're all unexpectedly outed on the same night. With the help of their friend, they head to the streets in search of freedom and acceptance. Along the way they meet another boy, and there's more to him then they could have ever guessed.
