Only one person has ever glimpsed the true Dazai - the raw, powerful nature his ability forces him to suppress. While the loss of that person rewrites Dazai's direction in life, it also solidifies his determination to never allow another to get so close. Odasaku had both the gift of foresight and human experience and whether Dazai accepts it or not, his future has already been determined.
