If you doubt your writing skills, read this book. It'll make you feel better, trust me. I wrote this when I was in sixth grade, and now I can't even get through the first chapter without cringing. Okay, here we go: ------------- Before I tell you my story, I have something to tell you. My twin sister, Fern, and I, we are special. Not the kind of special like we are the best at an instrument or we know more facts about something than anyone else. We are so special that our connection is something that only happens every million years. we also inherited something random from our adopted mom that makes us SUPER special. Family comes before crime
I love this show Numb3rs so I thought it would be cool to write fan fiction for it, the show is about solving crime and murders with math. My brothers are Don, the oldest, and Charlie, he's my best friend, aside from his friend's younger brother Jackson, he's adopted so he looks nothing like her, but he was always there. I'm 12 currently, and I want to be an actress/singer. My oldest brother got a job as part of the FBI, and Charlie he's a math genius, he's gonna do great things. They both will, even if we're not twins, we understand each other like we were, our personalities are opposite, but we complete each other, Don isn't really like either of us though. Charlie and I are so close that even when our names are so different somehow they've decided to make our names one. Farlie. Before the fall of Earth humanity built a great colony ship, ten thousand of the colonist left Earth for a hundred year journey to Gillespie. They came from all over the Earth leaving a planet knowing they would never see another in their lifetime. The Ark is a rotating cylinder the size of a large island with its own train system. It's divided into three main sections, the city, the framlands, and the Lowers. The people are divided into three groups as well, Uppers, Middles and Lowers. Uppers are made of elite scientist, Astro-crops, bureaucrats they made up about 3% of the population. The Middles are are the farmers, the guard, teachers, doctors, the food processors, clothes makers and of course the mechanical maintenance workers. They make-up the 97% of the 10,000 counted citizens. The lowers are criminals and children born to un-paired parents. They live separated from the middles and Upper. In lowers you work in water reclamation or in one of the fish farms that supply protein to the ship. In the year 2149 Dylan De Rovia is trying to wrap her head around the idea that in two year's she'll be paired. That they call marriage on the Ark. Pairing is good most who are paired do end-up staying together because while genetics play good part in determining a match so does personality. Some people choose to use spend this time having a good time with as many partners as possible. Dylan however, vowed that she would never fall in love with anyone before pairing. The universe had other plans however, when Dylan learns that she'll pair with an Upper named Kyive Sinclar life gets more complicated than ever. Falling in love is hard enough falling in love in space that the story.Complete
My brother the 10 year old genius
We're about 4 years apart, he's only 10 years old and still the smartest person I know. I'm 14 years old, and starting my first year of high school. And may I just say, what a great way to start the year off by first having all the parents be abducted by aliens. Compared to the rest of our family it makes me feel stupid, but then compare me to our parents and my IQ goes from stupid to at least average. Our mom is pretty smart, my dad isn't that smart, and sounds like he really only cares about ducks. People make fun of him for being so smart, but I love him, most days anyways. He's my best friend and he says I'm the coolest big sister he's ever had, to be clear I'm the only sister he's ever had. He has one of those space HQs one of those bigger on the inside tiny on the outside, and invents all and everything. Including our dog, I'm allergic to anything that sheds, but have always wanted a pet, so he made me one himself. I just wish he'd ask me first before he tests his experiments on me. Proposal of Submission - Psychic the Saga
Hello, I want to first thank you for taking the time to read my proposal, as I know that there are many others you must work through who have done the same as I; please, trust me when I say that your attention is greatly appreciated. I am messaging you today because I wish to submit a selection of excerpts taken from the series of science fiction/science fantasy stories I have written; called Psychic the Saga. I'm a former United States Marine, and a currently enrolled Aerospace Engineering undergrad at the University of Central Florida in Orlando. Over the course of the last eight years, during which the earlier stated experiences have occurred in my adult life, I have continually written the story I am now presenting for your consideration. Outside of writing as a hobby, and what was needed when submitting assignments, my only writing credential is a published engineering research paper in the European Physical Letters: 'Tailorable Twisting of Biomimetic Scale-Covered Substrate'; of which, my main contributions were that of the experimentation, and the editing/proofreading of the paper. In regards to my submission, the story of Psychic follows our trio and the rest of their friends as they fight for peace and stability within the newly unveiled realm of psychics, once hidden amongst the world for untold millennia. The statistics of Book One are as follows: word count = ~205279, page count = ~396, target audience = young/new adult (16~34 yr. of age). The reasoning behind this age range is two-fold: the concepts, morals and lessons, themes, and situations/ problems faced by the main characters are both relatable and beneficial for this age group; also yes, there is foul language, and yes there are very visceral depictions of violence. Also also (lol), I wish to give a disclaimer in terms of any romance, love, or anything else similar; I intentionally never take the story beyond anything more intimate than a kiss. So there.
