Rowan Amerro, the child of the lead inquisitor, had a perfect life. Friends, family, a home. Then the fire came, and the hunt began.

Chased by the inquisitors and their demons, Rowan flees his homeland, Venita, and seeks refuge in the neighbouring country, Radagam. The two countries have been at war for decades, and despite the appearance of a mysterious barrier, demons can cross and wreak havoc upon the inhabitants of Radagam. How does Rowan prove his worth? His innocence? Many challenges await - a traitor, the suspicion of his peers and a ghost from his past. Will he turn his back on the country which exiled him, or will he betray his new friends?
