In a dystopian future were men are considered above women. Seventeen year old Alexa Gates a fiery independent thinker is selected by a boy to become his wife in a sick tradition called selection. When Alexa speaks out against selection she is taken into the custody of the Theocratic government. Now everyone Alexa knows and cares about is in danger and there is nothing she can do about it.
