He moved unbareably close to me. His nose touching mine, our breathing moving at the same pace as he looked into my eyes and I looked into his. "Tell me, has your flame died or does it flicker in the darkness?" His words came out like a gentle stream. My flame wasn't gone, it hadn't died, it was still their in the darkness burning just as bright as it had the first day I laid eyes on him. Before words left my lips he placed his hands on either side of my face and whispered, "you show signs of knowing what you want, you act as though you want me to kiss you. You're pulling me closer every moment, every second your heart beats I can hear it beating for me. So why do you push me away?"

"Please wake up." I said as I held his hand. I looked for any sign of response; a movement beneath an eyelid, a twitch of a finger. Nothing. He was just... blank. I felt the tears come. I played with his hand in mine; traced invisible messages in his palm with my finger, hoping just maybe he'd magically be able to get them. Tears started falling down my cheeks. I held his hand gently against my lips. Tears dropped on his fingers until they were as wet as my eyes. I rested my head on his limp hand. "I told you I needed you to stay."
