The One

I open my eyes.

Finally.

A white light is shining on top of my head. There is a gentle breeze flowing in the room I am in. As my senses come back to me one at a time, I smell the sweet fragrance of tulips with the air first. My right leg is in a cast and various tubes are sticking out of my body.

Suddenly a searing pain takes over my head and I am once again drowning in the same darkness I've now been familiar with...
