When a specific medication for curing pain goes wrong, the world takes a sudden turn. The cure erases the host's memories, causing them to go insane. So insane that they begin taking over the cities, and the country itself. Those who never took the cure are left to survive on their own, confused and hopeless.

What would you do if one second you were struggling to survive with your friends and mother in tow, and then you wake up to find yourself with a group of strangers the next - all during the country's takeover of blood-thirsty zeds? Megan couldn't believe her eyes. Her brain was muddled with confusion she couldn't get rid of, no matter how many times those strangers reassured her and explained what happened. But she had to accept it, even though it didn't make any sense to her. Megan had been with her mother every step of the way since everything turned to chaos, beginning just a year before, and now she was nowhere to be seen. And on top of that, she had the zeds to deal with. Ghastly creatures that used to be human, carrying a virus that's spread through a constant hunger for flesh from the host, spreading through bites and scratches. It didn't exactly make it easy to prevent getting infected. Things could have been worse, though, Megan thought. She could've been left all alone to ponder over her thoughts and fear over the future. It'll only be within the time spent with the new group will she find out that everything's not as happy and welcoming as it had seemed. These people had a few secrets of their own, including the real reason they took Megan in. They promise to shield those free of infection. They promise a warm bed with food. They promise a purpose in life. And that's exactly what she needs. u·to·pi·a: An imagined "perfect" realm. Where everyone is content; where things get done by people who are happy to do them, and where problems that have plagued our world for over a millennium no longer apply. Whoever came up with the idea was drunk, stoned, tripping or insane. Maybe even all four.

My life was simple and easy. A bit lonely but I liked it. It wasn't until I literally crashed into the one who would change my life forever. My world got turned upside down and everything changed. No one thought the apocalypse would really happen. When it did, no one was prepared for the horrors that came with it. Everyone except Avigail, or Avi for short, and Marlowe. Their past lives caused them to be able to fend for themselves, and only themselves. Until they meet Reyes, that is. He took them in like they were his daughters and taught them everything he knew, causing a bond to be created between the two girls and him. When trouble arises, it's up to Marlowe and Avi to make everything right and restore balance to their world. And when someone finds the cure, maybe even the whole world.

But I still hope and dream that everything will be back not as normal it can be but to how it used to be, where all are free from Fear of death and people start to walk down the street happily again.
