Abused since age 4 and forced to grow up too fast, Percy Jackson's mother was beaten to death when he was 7, he committed his first serious crime by getting revenge on Gabe Ugliano. Let's just say he got what he deserved.
Perseus has been called a lot of things: a brat, rutheless, evil, but 'prisoner' is not one of those titles.
His whole terrorist group ambushed, Perseus is the only survivor to tell the story. And after weeks of just barely slipping from SHEILD's grasp, Percy was finally caught and imprisoned. He already had a grudge to hold against the Avengers, he might as well just add that to the list.
But of course, this all falls into Percy's plans. The plan he had made over a year ago, the promise to kill the Avengers, but surprisingly, it's not as easy as it sound, and the growing friendship between Percy and the group isn't helping either, not one bit.

It's been a while since the Giant War. Annabeth sealed the doors with her life, and promised Percy that she would wait for him in Elysium. Percy went into a rage, he destroyed nearly everything in his wake, and wielded the Master Bolt. The war was won, and Percy Jackson was again, offered a wish, he was too distraught to think straight, so his wish was put on hold. Then he confirmed his existence to Thalia and Nico, who quickly told the Gods, but only that he was alive and well.
