"Pssst, had je al gehoord van de nieuwe Engels docent?"   Ik frons. Dit kan niks goeds betekenen, zachtjes tik ik nadenkend met mijn potlood op tafel. 
Nee natuurlijk heb ik nog niks gehoord van die nieuwe Engels docent. Dat soort dingen krijg ik nooit mee.  Maar er is toch niks mis met de Engels docent die we eerder hadden? Is ze ziek? Dodelijk ziek? Mijn gedachtes razen met volle snelheid door mijn hoofd heen.
