Eliza- I could have died today. People always say that in dangerous circumstances, everything happens in slow motion- but not for me. All I saw was a blur of colours. Overwhelming sounds of yelling and a car horn. A baby crying across the street. Someone pushing me sidewards with force... and when I snapped out of my trance. You know the feeling when you are falling in a dream, in an endless vacuum, never to touch the ground? Unlike my dreams, when I woke up I hit the ground. Hard. Christopher- I saw the girl crossing at the lights on the busy intersection. She was wearing a casual hoody to arm herself against the cold breeze. A horn sounded, though she paid no attention, too distracted by the person she was texting and the earphones in her ears. She was smiling, completely oblivious as to the predicament she was in. She was blissfully unaware of the car screeching round the corner, only building momentum as it went. I did the first thing that came to mind. I ran. It was an impulse I can not explain- but something inside me said that she had her whole life ahead of her, she may have a family who loves her, she probably has a boyfriend. And I had none of that. So instead of being afraid of getting hurt, I leaped ahead of her and pushed the girl to safety, just and the speeding car slammed into my back. I almost died today. Almost.

* Usually this would be the time that Amanda would say, 'I told you so' and right now I would give anything for her to be here. Maybe she would scold me, but I would take it. Maybe she would scream at me the whole way home, but I would take it. And maybe she would curse me, insult me and even tell mom about it, but I would take it. Rather than this. This, I didn't know what the woman was going to do to me. I obviously knew exactly what Amanda was going to do to me in this situation, but this... this moment. "What are you..." I then remembered. Shit! Those men spiked me! And as fast as it hit me, I was out. * Amanda and Brenda were not sure if Aliah was trying to ignore her past traumatic kidnapping or if she was actually way over it. With the jolly and flirtatious Aliah, it was hard to differentiate fake smiles from real laughs, pretense from true emotions. And this situation seemed to be stressing them out even more than Aliah who had insisted on letting it go. Dreams crash realities. Two similarities crash two personalities. Will you be able to tell the difference?
