Eliza-
I could have died today. People always say that in dangerous circumstances, everything happens in slow motion- but not for me. All I saw was a blur of colours. Overwhelming sounds of yelling and a car horn. A baby crying across the street. Someone pushing me sidewards with force... and when I snapped out of my trance. You know the feeling when you are falling in a dream, in an endless vacuum, never to touch the ground? Unlike my dreams, when I woke up I hit the ground. Hard.
Christopher-
I saw the girl crossing at the lights on the busy intersection. She was wearing a casual hoody to arm herself against the cold breeze. A horn sounded, though she paid no attention, too distracted by the person she was texting and the earphones in her ears. She was smiling, completely oblivious as to the predicament she was in. She was blissfully unaware of the car screeching round the corner, only building momentum as it went. I did the first thing that came to mind. I ran. It was an impulse I can not explain- but something inside me said that she had her whole life ahead of her, she may have a family who loves her, she probably has a boyfriend. And I had none of that. So instead of being afraid of getting hurt, I leaped ahead of her and pushed the girl to safety, just and the speeding car slammed into my back.
I almost died today. Almost.
Elliot Jensen and Elliot Fintry have a lot in common. They share the same name, the same house, the same school, oh and they hate each other but, as they will quickly learn, there is a fine line between love and hate.
