     Wild Passions is set back in the early 1800's when the first whites begin to settle in the wild South Dakota Territory.  Kaitlin Farley's home is the first to be built outside the protective walls of the settlement.  Left alone day after day by her father and brother, she is put in charge of keeping up the home and providing the meals.  However, she doesn't realize she has captured the interest of the war chief of the Mighty Lakota Sioux.  
     Spirit Bear is angered at the invasion of his lands by the evil wasicun.  He has not had any warfare with the white dogs yet, but already three Indian maidens and a young boy have met their demise at their hands.  He knows he needs to study this new enemy before he can retaliate.
     One day, Kaitlin ran away from home because her father promised her hand in marriage to the most cruel but wealthy man in the town.  Her father had no way of knowing he'd really driven his daughter into the arms of a very handsome Indian warrior.  
     Kaitlin's life changes once she becomes the property of the Lakota war chief.  She has to relearn life to Indian specifications.  The striking leader not only owns Kaitlin's freedom, but he also holds her heart captive.

I know the book starts slow, that's how I wanted it to be, to build to the exciting parts. It may be a drag, I know but it'll be worth it when the book speeds up with the roller coaster that Harmony has to ride, so to speak. Give it time and it'll spike your interest.
