Eli Sanders, a popular outcast who puts on the best fake smile he can while he's in his remaining last year of school.
Eli feels he doesn't belong with the jocks anymore and that they're his way of keeping in balance with the world, but he's not the typical jock either he loves to sing and dance and he has always had his heart set on being an actor. But instead, he pretends to be like the rest of the jocks, immature. He plays football to keep up his image. Pretends he has an interest in girls and ignores what his heart really wants.
He doesn't really fit into society's labels his high school holds. He feels that nobody understands him and he just wants someone to fix him because he's done trying to fix himself. His brother Connor gets sent away, now Eli's stuck with his nightmare family.
Jai Richards was unnoticed almost invisible at his school, he had no one to talk to and no one to be there for him, he was lost and was surrounded by people who treated him as if he were a ghost.
The teachers would always forget his name and the students wouldn't even acknowledge his existence. But he's used to it.
Jai lives in a run-down neighborhood, his parents are abusive. He has no one, Jai is completely alone.
Eli is stuck in the most pristine family of the town, he has to be an example to fellow citizens and his parents only see him as a marketing toy. His siblings all follow the parents every move like robots, except for Connor who is being sent away. Eli is completely alone.
What happens when Eli and Jai meet? Jai's world is flipped upside down when Eli decides to show an interest in the mysterious and quiet boy.
how does it impact Eli's life? Does it confuse him? Make Him question himself on the daily? And give him hope and determination? Or does everything come crashing down? Do Eli's walls break and everyone around him shut him out?
Maybe, just maybe this is what they both need, and what they've been searching for so desperately.
