The enchanted lady stood facing away from me. I dragged my feet through the sandy coast and kept my head high, just like she told me.
The minute she turned around I knew she was pleased by the fearlessness I was showing. Little did she know that I was simply breathing off of adrenaline.
Her grassy green eyes bored into my grey ones as the sky tore open and small pebbles erupting on the sand.
"You have to fight Rorry. If you don't you'll slip away and be nothing but a lost soul. Is that what you want?" Her question threatened me, one wrong word could end with me adding more scars on my skin.
"I'll fight mom, I promise."
She laughed although it could barely be heard over the heavy clouds bursting open.
"Of course you'll fight Rorry. But what will you fight for?"
