Set in London in the 1930's. The young Lord Beardsmore is a witness to the daring theft of a priceless wooden tablet from the British Museum. Soon the action is complicated by the kidnapping of his friend Professor Bellwether. On the track of both a mysterious veiled woman and the Captain of a foreign naval ship, Beardsmore is soon catapulted into an adventure chasing through London, the ocean city of Ceuta and the deserts of north Africa.       Lord Beardsmore and The Children of Midnight's Thunder is a rocket sled ride through a fantastical 1930s world which is deceptively similar to the history of our own. A world with out automotive cars, Beardsmore's universe is filled with chases of bicycle against steam truck, High speed boat against moving walkway and Steam train against a floating ship. All the time set against the rise to power of the specter of Supremisium across Europe.
