Stanford non-hunting au. Sam never met Brady, therefore he never met Jess. He's a sophomore at Stanford and has a different girlfriend, Mara. She seems so sweet and shy, but she constantly abuses Sam. He takes it though, because if she didn't love him, then she wouldn't get mad when he screws up. One fateful day, Sam bumps into Jess at the library. Slowly but surely, Jess figures out what's going on and tries to show Sam that this isn't love. Can Jess save Sam from his predicament?
