After getting expelled from yet another school for yet another clash with mythological monsters only she can see, twelve-year-old Riley Jackson is taken to Camp Half-Blood, where she finally learns the truth about her unique abilities: She is a demigod, half human, half immortal. Even more stunning: Her father is the Greek god Poseidon, ruler of the sea, making Riley one of the most powerful demigods alive. There's little time to process this news. All too soon, a cryptic prophecy from the Oracle sends Percy on her first quest, a mission to the Underworld to prevent a war among the gods of Olympus.

Humans have forgotten, or are just ignorant. Perhaps they just moved on from the past. That's unfortunately not the case for most Demigods. Children of mortals and Gods. Zeus, Poseidon, to a lesser extent Hades, and other Olympian Gods... most Gods have laid with mortals. While some Demigods are claimed, other are not.
