Loke is depressed, bullied and very reclusive, he hurts himself because he think he deserves it and he can't even remember how many times he has tried to end his own life.
You would think starting in a new school, in a new country where no one knows who you are would do him some good, but that's not the way he sees it.
He gets in trouble the first day of school and his parents don't seem to see that they have to help him more than they already do. They are going to see that what they're doing, just isn't enough.
