My hands gripped at his jacket afraid to let go, afraid that they might never get the courage to do this again.

I leaned in to him, looking up at his hazel eyes, I never knew up close they'd be more beautiful.

He held my arms, his hands reluctant and his face a mask of confusion until realisation dawned on him.

I sighed internally, if he understood what was going on with me he might be able to help me.

I put my hands around his neck, my lips whispering kisses on his neck until I reached his jawline.
He clenched his jaw and pushed me away, I could see a war raging in his eyes before they were filled with pure hatred.

"You must be drunk, I'm not Lucas" he gritted through his teeth before walking away.

But I was not. I wasn't drunk.

My knees give away as I realise what I've lost. He's near me yet so far away. He's my husband but I've failed to be his wife.
