Vivienne's world is turned upside down when mysterious soldiers come and bomb her house. Even though she survives the fire and damage, the soldiers kidnap her. She then wakes up in a van, and watches these kidnappers steal other children (all ages).
Something must be wrong. She meets Riley Pierce and they become acquainted. Together they try to survive through this dark new world and defeat its creator. Will they survive or will it turn out to be a lost cause?

The country is also in the midst of going to war with rival countries over what appears to be nonsense. He decides to go to a friends house to unwind and play video games.
