Credence Barebone. An abused youth, left as an orphaned shadow under the care of a blasphemous woman, Mary Lou Barebone. The boy is a hopeless case, abandoned to remain in his own darkness.

Natalia Creswell, a bright witch living in the crowded grey streets of New York, is an efflorescent girl of uncommon kindness. Known for bright eyes and gentle smiles, she's a soul with a craving to carry out compassion.
