A short story following the excruciating life of a boy whose novel was published his sophomore year of highschool. Slowly the stress and expectations build up until he falls apart inside-out, and only one person notices-Sam Mallard, an unusual girl who stands out more than a rose in a field of dandelions. As time passes, his feelings for Sam develop, but he realizes something that hits him like a truck, and is in a comprising situation of which he must deal with the truth in reality.
