"You know, I think she might be an assassin, planted to kill the prince..."

Helena is an Eight and she believed she was untouchable. Well, untouchable in the respect that polite society wouldn't want to touch her with a barge pole - she didn't care about this. What she does care about, however, is providing for her surrogate family in the shambolic slums where they saved her. So if that means she has to enter The Selection to pretend to pine after the acclaimed Prince Palamon, then so be it. Becoming swept up in the politics of romance, the prejudice of her peers, and a plot to destroy the monarchy, will Helena escape The Selection alive?

The Selection Fan Fiction "I, Clarissa Dossen, will never be free from the cage of other people's choices." Clarissa Dossen is a 17 year old girl sent to The Fraussen Prestige Institute, a boarding school for the rich and famous kids of Sarroine. Her mom has devoted herself to a lifestyle of the utmost leisure and fame; Clarissa's dad, however, is down to earth and kind. In her young country, Sarroine, everyone is labeled. The Prestige are rich and famous, with the Royalty slightly above. The Elite have the wealth of a prestige, but not the fame, and the Modest barely make ends meet. But greatly looked down upon are the Unlabeled. They are such a disgrace to the country that they are ignored. Clarissa believes that these boundaries shouldn't be in place, and when put in a powerful position, she struggles between loyalty to her family and loyalty to her beliefs. What happens when Clarissa realizes she has been selected for a competition she doesn't want to be in? Will she ever want to be a contender in The Selection? Will Prince Alexander win her heart? Labeled follows Clarissa through a tumultuous and romantic journey of self-discovery and development with all the beauty and pomp of the original Selection. Her world is called Sarrione, which is what King Maxon and Queen America re-named the country after dismantling the caste system which their son hastily put back into place through the Labels. They are the current Prince's grandparents. *the idea of the Selection, inspiration for the plot, and the characters of Queen America and King Maxon are not original, all credit goes to Kiera Cass. ~ 'Matthew slid closer to me so our bodies were pressed up against each other in a not to intimate way. "I hope I cross your mind every once in a while," Matthew said in an almost whisper. "Just so I don't feel so pathetic for thinking of you all the time." I felt my heart beat at a rapid pace as he said those words to me. Nothing like that had ever been said to me before, and that was all it took for me to reach up to Matthew and connect my lips with his.' ~ Twenty-one years ago, America Singer entered the Selection with no intention of claiming Prince Maxon's heart for herself Now, another Selection is about to surface, and Illéa is more excited than ever. Not only did Maxon and America provide an heir, but twin sons. Sol Soble, a Four from Kent, wanted nothing to do with the Selection. Her life was no fantasy with magic sugar castles and money growing on trees, but she loved Kent and certain things in it; and for that, the Selection wasn't in her best interest. But after a sudden tragedy, Sol's world is rocked to its core and she is doing things she never thought she would do; entering the Selection, going to the Palace, and maybe, even starting to fall in love. It's only common knowledge that when people don't learn from history, it's often doomed to repeat itself. --------------------- DISCLAIMER: All rights go to Kiera Cass
