Though she's a talented gymnast, Star Butterfly has always followed the orders of her strict queen and king parents and abandoned her true pursuits. However, when she moves to a new town and meets the carefree Kelly, she disobeys her father for the first time in her life. With Kelly's encouragement, Star enters a TV dance competition -- and soon finds herself with both a cute dance partner named Marco and an archrival named Jamie who is dead set on getting Star eliminated from the contest.
