Elise Willows is an eccentric, intelligent, and involved seventeen year-old. She wants to do things. To help fix her broken community. But she can't. Elise lives in a redesigned, futuristic New York. She lives around technology we could never dream of. The jobs and priorities of the people are equally facilitated among the census. Everyone thinks it's the perfect society. Except Elise. The government says all the groups are equal, that not one has more power than another. But Elise knows this isn't true. She's forbidden to date, and has a curfew of eight p.m. She's been placed in the lowest group possible, according to her standards. The other groups can do basically anything they want. Not to mention the jobs. High groups are made up of video game designers, technology inventors, and website CEOs. All of the fun jobs. Elise is part of the Laundry Squad. She cleans the entire cities' dirty clothes. She doesn't deserve to be here. She was intentionally placed in the wrong group. The group with no opportunities to find things out. The group with the inability to blackmail. When Elise finds out she's been sorted into the wrong group, she is targeted by authority figures everywhere. But she isn't planning to go down without a fight.
