Aph has had a difficult past. When she was five, her parents died and then when she was ten, she found out about magic. At this age she met a kid named Gene who had control over certain people. The power he had was called Shadow Sense. This was a rare power and has many consequences.
Gene had been Aph's friend...then he accidentally hurt her. She ran and ended up at a different foster home than the one she had been at before. When she was fourteen she was adopted and was going to be sent to high school. By this time in her life, Aph has put up wall after wall to protect herself from getting hurt again....
She always wondered what a real friend would be like...would it be fun to have a good friend? Why shouldn't I try to make a friend? She eventually forgot all of these questions and ignored everyone.....why???
