Sumiko moved to the Alola region with her mother and Meowth. She was a new face on Melemele Island and she was going to attend pokemon school. She met some new faces and they were all her new friends. Hau brought her to his grandfather and he gave me my partner pokemon Poplio. She met the guardian deity of the island, Tapu Koko. He gave her the Z-ring and she set out to collect all the pokemons in the Alola region and become the grand trial champion. She has a secret that she can't share with the others and that caught the eyes of some evil people but not only that but also a trial captain's heart.

Later, they awoken from their hiding places in Alola and they felt evil nearby and they will save Alola.
