Riley Roofer was a normal teenage girl. She was shy, but also outgoing with her friends and family. She wrote horror stories in her free time. Her stories were so fascinating and incredibly interesting that one day her dad found them and thought they were good enough to be published. She insisted that that would be a bad idea. She hated attention. She burnt her stories. She thought everything would be good now, she knew she couldn't get attention if they were gone. Well, she was wrong. Her stories came to life. She lived a nightmare of her own horror stories. What will she do? Will her life ever be the same?

Lily, a five year old child loses her parents in a horrible accident. Afterwords she is forced to live with her Grandmother who works all the time and has no time for a child. Lily, not knowing what really happened to her parents, and not understanding at all, she decides to take things into her own hands. At first she killed animals because she thought her parents were lonely where ever they were. After trying to kill her own Grandmother she was sent to The House, an insane asylum for kids. There she met seven other kids with situations similar to her own. Will Lily get better and go live with her family again or will she remain in a sense of denial enough that her sanity is in jeopardy? This story is told from Lily's point of view but it actually told by another girl with her little comments every now and again.
