After years of heartbreak from family dysfunction, Dhalia is now 20 years old with nothing to her name except a failing flower shop. At closing time, her cat Nipsy brings to her a strange, soft blue mushroom. But nothing interests Dhalia anymore; her passion for gardening is dieing, just like her heart. As she's ready to leave, Nipsy dashes into the thick woods, again. Not wanting anymore issues to deal with, she searches for her cat. As cold night falls, Dhalia is alone with the dead trees, night creatures, and the scariest thing of all, her past. Is there life after numbness? Does time heal all wounds? Is it normal for mushrooms to produce glowing balls of light that heal physical wounds? Dhalia's cat is the one that's missing, but is that the only thing she has lost? (This is a bit of a sad story, but I swear to you that it has a great ending! There's one point that's going to sound weird, but I swear to you that it makes sense when you think in terms of 12 step recovery, addiction, and the spiritual realm.) This story covers topics of alcoholism, family addiction, codependency, AA 12 steps of recovery, spirituality, the Bible, and hope. Copyright ©2024 Shenecia L Roopnarine All Rights Reserved
