Mallory's mom died of ovarian cancer when she turned sixteen, leaving her to fend for herself and her younger sister, Isabella. She began receiving emails, telling her to kill people for a large sum of money. In desperate need of money to provide for her family, she takes the job. Killing people in order to keep her sister happy didn't seem like the ideal job, but when it's family, you do what you have to do.

After receiving an email with the name Carmen Taylor, she goes in to make the kill. She's stopped by someone, inquiring who she is and why she's doing what she's doing. Together, they trace clues back to who is sending Mallory these emails and what all her victims have in common.

Twists and turns create chaos in Mallory's life, sending her in multiple different directions as she searches for the answers she seeks. Despite having a double life and being an assassin, it doesn't mean she doesn't have feelings. She prone to love and hurt and heartbreak. But at the end of the day, she's still Agent 16.
