To belong is a verb that Ruth has barely ever experienced. Her parents gave her up, only nine years old. And as any nine-year-old would've done - she waited for them to come pick her up. She became a part of the fostering system. Jumping from state to state, and after two years Ruth realised that it wasn't going to happen.

Living in New York City for the second time, 14 years old, in a home with a foster family who barely cared, only using her. The bruises on her body just added by each day that passed. The thoughts in her head making her do stuff Ruth couldn't control.

Not allowed to bloom, a creative flower inside the seed.

One day she fell - at the worst time.
In front of Lin Manuel Miranda.

Watch her go from Ruth - to Rue, a whole new girl.

She grew up with somewhat loving parents. Her mother cared so dearly for her and so did her father...kind of. He neglected her but paid more attention to her older brother. He paid more attention to him because he wanted him to take over his spot as the mafia boss. After all, her brother was the heir. Her mother loved McKenzie but turned out to be half-neglectful. She pays attention to McKenzie, just not the way she should. McKenzie ended up being the one to take over, but she and her best friend ended up being kidnapped beforehand. All of her and her dad's plans went downhill afterward. She fell in love with her kidnapper and her best friend, Brooklyn who is also 18, fell in love with the kidnapper's best friend. How would this turn out? Would McKenzie's parents find out and take her back? Will there be a happy ending or not? You must read to find out!! (𝐌𝐲 𝐟𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐛𝐨𝐨𝐤! Belonging - an adopted by Hamilton sequel

16 parts Ongoing

Belonging. A feeling Rue had never let herself know, until she finally let herself feel it. As the years pass after that one day in the park, Rue continues to have to remind herself that she belongs. Because the doubt is always there, in the back of her mind. Dom, however, rarely thinks of this. He has always felt like he belongs. And so, he sees Rue's place in the world as something given. It soon becomes clear that they belong with each other. Even if it means that their views clashes every once in a while, or that he has to remind her that she, indeed, belongs. Watch while Rue grows up, and as time moves on and with the support of the people around her, lets herself belong more and more as the years go by. This is a Rue & Dom story. A story of belonging. Whether you think you can, or not. - This is a sequel to "Belong", an adopted by Hamilton fan fiction. The first book follows Rue as she gets fostered by Lin-Manuel Miranda and Vanessa Nadal, but also how she fights with her mental health. Therefore, I'd like to point out that these books are a work of fiction, and therefore the story isn't real though it does contain some real people. "Belonging" will also feature these people from and surrounding the Hamilton cast. It will also feature parts about Rue's experience mental illness, in particular OCD and PTSD.
