For centuries, magic has been a myth. But the truth is quite the opposite. 

With a prophecy to guide the good, shadows greedily eat up the land, stretching from their allotted places.  A man, corrupt with power, is slowly allowing a deep evil channel to flow from him so he can take over the whole realm, killing anyone to achieve his goal. A survivor of a massacre waits impatiently to act, looking to a prophecy for guidance amongst the darkness. 
This stated hero is taken away to learn of her heritage, and as she learns more and more she begins to question the prophecy. Darkness is swiftly approaching, and the spirits of old have stayed silent. And when shadows take from of morbid beasts, desperation takes hold of the hero and her friends. 
Will the spirits of old come in time to help guide the hero to victory, or will all succumb to a darkness darker then the night?
