At Seventeen years of age Kennedy became one of the statistics that bring horror to most peoples lives. She was kidnapped by a man who claims to love her more than life itself. For three years, she endures her captor, Marcus, and at times, his friend who terrifies her more than Marcus ever could, Henry.

She gets hurt countless times, goes through unimaginable trauma, and finally ends up in a hospital at the age of 20.

In an attempt to get better, Kennedy is made to write about her experiences in what she calls the Vault. The attic, where she was kept for so long in the middle of nowhere. The story itself will take her seven months to write, and will take its toll on everyone who would call her family.
