Isoya was one of the beta testers for the game Sword Art Online. After logging in on the launch date and soon realizing she wouldnt be able to log out and see her family and friends she was warped into a sea of depression. Almost comiting suicide just to leave the dreadful game, she was stopped by a solo player and ex-beta tester Kirito. He taught her that she need to move forward so that she can live through it and leave the game alive.
