After certain events left Nate enrolled in a new school in town he ends up stuck between the two best people in his life. He doesn't know why he has to choose. It's either Jamie, his boyfriend of two years, or Kayden, his new best friend of whom he feels a strange connection to.

Odd happenings leads to him discovering not everyone around him are completely human, and not everything is what it first seems. What has Nate got to do with someone kind of war? Why is there suddenly dead bodies showing up around the forest? Why do Jamie and Kayden appear to be arch enemies?
