Jessie is shy and a responsible girl. She moves back to California after two years at NYU where she is going to finish her education. Her plan is simple, to focus on her education to get her degree in architecture. At least that's what she thinks before meeting Kaden. He is handsome, older and everything about him tells her to stay away from him. He is nothing like anyone she has ever met before. He is far from anyone she would ever date. Even the rumors about him being violent in the past and being far from a good guy should push her away. Nevertheless, her attraction to him is inedible. And his curiosity for her is just as irresistible. His green eyes pull her to him. They start up a secret affair. It is supposed to be simple. For him, his terms are simpler. To have sex with no future possibilities and for no one to find out. For her, nothing is as simple as that. The biggest challenge is not falling for someone who clearly doesn't want a relationship but can't stop himself from showing the opposite. This is a messy and frustrating situation for either one of them. Yet none of them can let go. She decides to jeopardize her heart. He decides to jeopardize his past. This whole affair is hanging on a fragile thread that will eventually break. But when it does, will it shatter what they have or are they too far lost in each other?
