Romance is something of a myth to girls like Hope, a fairytale told to small children bringing them hope for the life they might have. But the true meaning of romance is an insufferable tolerance for someone's flaws, in exchange for a fake "understanding" of one another. Bullshit. Happy endings are stories. And Hope doesn't believe any of them, not after what happened to her.
