When everyone is born, a protector is assigned to each human. The protectors are made to keep their subjects out of harms way and to follow their prophecy.
Justin, Leah Ultra-Violet Smith's protector, breaks every rule he once followed. He meets Leah to try and steer her away from death because he has fallen in love with her; they become friends and Leah soon falls for him, too, clueless as to who he really is and why he is on Earth.
There's one problem: If they don't run fast enough, they will both be killed. Justin, in regards to breaking the rules, has left the cycle hanging close to destruction. If they don't set it straight, they won't see another day. Their last memory will be of each other and nothing else. Breaking the rules comes with great torture.
Does Justin sacrifice his own life for Leah? Can they change the cycle so they both live and protectors can start a life with their subjects? Do they fail and end up just another shadow of disobedience people avoid, hoping they don't end up in that shadow, too? Or does Romeo and Juliet ride this bitch and cause both lovers to die?

We reached the hospital and Ryder, still being gentle, jumped out of the car. Zach opened the doors for him and they rushed inside the emergency room. "We need a little help." Max asked the nurse at the table. SHe seemed a little bit annoyed. "Sir this is the trauma center. If you have an emergency that can wait...Oh my gosh." She spoke once she looked at me. "Dr!" She looked at a blonde woman walking by. "Yes?" The woman walked over with a smile on her face. The nurse pointed at me. "Over here." She lead the guys to a hospital bed that they laid me down. "If it means anything, she has panic attacks." Ryder explained. "Page Shepard." She told someone. "What's her name?" "Lucy." Ryder told them. Then, light people around me became blurs, than darkness. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Maybe you had some high school bullies, but I hope they weren't like Lucy Smith's bullies. Lucy Smith is entering into her first year of high school, going to school with her best friend and four out of her five older, protective brothers. Being part of the Smith family gives her some different effects on the the guys around her and some people don't take too kindly to that.
