Love Novice (Completed) Season 1 In Ben and Am's Romance by galarussauthor
70 parts Complete Mature
Tug-at-your-heartstrings new adult first love story. What starts as a bet to avoid cleanup duties at her minimum wage cashier job, wins Amelie D'Amico more than she's ever hoped for. When Ben, a cute customer who always checkouts at her register, finally speaks to her, his interest in cooking make her only more curious. Amelie's always been terrible at recipes and trust, but with each passing day, Ben proves that when the right person comes along to show the way, it's easy. As their friendship grows, he confesses that he's never dated before and asks Amelie to be his relationship coach. Flattered as she is, she should say no. Her love life is a disaster, and she's hardly the best person to assist him, yet she can't resist his smile or his searching blue eyes. Preparing Ben for his first ever date with a woman who clearly likes him seems simple enough, until helping him score his first kiss becomes the last thing Amelie wants to do for her...friend. How could she begin something she's unable to finish? Telling Ben she wants to be more than his buddy wouldn't be a problem if leaving the US at the end of the semester to pursue a PhD in France wasn't her focus. And what will happen to their friends-with-benefits arrangement if what actually stands in their way is not her plan but her heart? NORMAL PEOPLE x LOVE QUOTIENT Tropes: Friends to lovers, matchmaker, fake dating, opposites attract, secrets, first love, ticking time-bomb BOOK 1 IN LOVE IN CHICAGO SERIES OF STANDALONES.
Not So Hot Girls Summer by emmalsmith__
29 parts Complete
Not So Hot Girls Summer follows three best friends on the last of their summer holidays before starting in their careers. Amelie, Maddie and Frankie have been friends since they were children and now they have graduated from university, they are ready for their final weeks of freedom, this year with celebrations taking place in Bali. But all is not as glamorous as social media portrays. Each of the girls are complicated and with each of them keeping their issues under wraps, they begin to build their own warped perceptions on one another (don't worry, the omniscient narrator reveals all). Amelie is a relatable character for many millennials. She suffers from social anxiety, fearing awkward situations and questioning everyone's intentions. From her perspective, she already believes that she will be left behind after summer, with Maddie and Frankie phasing her out. But she's wrong. The narrative she has built in her own mind is nothing far from the truth. Maddie does care. In fact, Maddie cares more than anyone. She is the only one to have organised anything to ensure they have the most memorable last few weeks before entering the working world, even when she is secretively dealing with her own issues. It is Frankie that can't be trusted. She is the lost soul of the group who has adopted a mentality of no longer caring. Whilst some may view her carefree perspective as admirable, it is this outlook that is leading her to dangerous waters. But with each of the girls personally dealing with their struggles, it doesn't take long before the holiday turns into emotional chaos, especially when boys become involved. Amelie

The Devil's Son blurb: Amelie is blind since always. Her life has always been following a predetermined pattern, had always been boring and ordinary, and she'd never managed to get any real friends, since people think she's a freak. Only her family has always been there for her. But she meets Ethan, and everything changes. She cannot resist the attraction she feels for him, and she's sure that he's the good one. Ethan rejects her, and Amelie is ready for anything to get him back... Even to get help from the evil side. But is she ready to sacrifice her soul? Redemption blurb (WARNING: may contain spoilers about The Devil's Son. Please read The Devil's Son first:) Amelie has gained sight and now travels with Ethan across the globe to hunt down any Demons possessing humans, to prevent any other innocents to turn into killers, just like Callie. But someone else is hunting those Demons too, someone who does more than just exorcise them. He kills the Demons, resulting in the death of the innocent human host. Lucifer's father is furious. Convinced that Amelie is the one to kill Demons, aided by Heaven, he threatens to engage in a war against Heaven, which would cause the Apocalypse. Lucifer and Amelie agree to join forces to find the real killer before it's too late... But will they be able to stop the killer before a war between Heaven and Hell decimates the human population? And will Amelie be able to redeem Lucifer's soul?

15 parts Complete Mature

This is the story of an abused teenage girl, Maddie. Her need to die has become overwhelming and she is trying to find a way to help herself before she does something she may regret. The story is told from her point of view as she recalls all that has happened to her. Maybe telling her story will help her, maybe not. This isn't just any other sob story. This is more realistic. You may even find yourself comparing your life to Maddie's while reading this story. Disclosure: I wrote this as a 13-year-old and the writing is definitely not up to my current standards, but I feel as though changing what I have already written would take away from the emotion I put into this story at 13 years old. If you'd like an updated and more well-written version, please read my other story entitled "Remembering". TW/CW: domestic violence, child abuse, sexual assault, depression, anxiety, suicidal ideation
