Since the 1st of January, the world is in shambles. Almost all life has been eradicated by nuclear bombs and radiation, except for a few individuals that survived the war in bunkers. Two of these people are the former Lieutenant Simon „Ghost" Riley and a young medical student, who end up in the same bunker near Manchester, together with a large group of other evacuated civilians.
