Leah Madison may come from a bad past, but you'll never hear her complain about it. When her Father dies, and her mother vanishes, Leah has to care for her two younger brothers, and take abuse from her older brother. Then, a spark of hope arises as her oldest brother, David, invites the sickly children to live with him, in a small country town. Leah is set at ease for the moment, but on her first day of her new high school, she's thrown into the middle of one of the worst cases of bullying she's ever seen. Even being raped doesn't disgust her as much as what the kids say and do to Lily Marksmith, a shy girl in her grade with a background almost as bad as Leah's.
