The majority of the world has been taken over by a corrupt dictator-like government called The Agency. Large cities in the US have been converted into "ideal societies" by enforcing extremely strict rules of minimal emotion and blind obedience with force and Termination. Maria is one of the few people who live in a self-sufficient hidden society built underground to escape the corruption of The Agency. But living in these rebellion camps has its downsides, the agency sends out genetically modified minions to seek out rebels and bring them to justice within their corrupt safe haven. Maria is captured and taken to city of Atlanta, where she struggles to escape and retain her freedom.
