"Think about it, Liz," Brielle gushed to her best friend. "You could be totally yourself, no pretending. That sounds so... easy."
Elizabeth just laughed to herself. "Oh please, that would be great if you got the hottest boy in Quentin, but with our luck, we'd probably get some weird goth girl or band geek. Forget it."
"Well, I'm signing up, and so are you since you're my best friend and best friends force each other to do things they don't want to do," Brielle said, dragging Elizabeth to the sign-up sheet.

When a pen pal program is started at Sacred Village High School with the rival school Quentin Gage High after winter break, Elizabeth Aldren is less than thrilled, to say the least. She didn't have anything against pen pals, she just thought you would grow tired of it after a few weeks. She hesitantly signed up for it and had no idea who she was going to meet and what she was getting into.
Nate Knight was your stereotypical bad boy. His punishment for spray painting "Knight Rider" on campus property was to join the Pen Pal Program. After a few letters, Nate isn't sure if the program was a blessing or punishment: or both.
When Elizabeth and Nate are forced to write to each other, they find solaces in each other, not realizing that they had gone through a lot of the same stuff. But will they drive each other away or come closer than they'd ever been to any other person?

                                                                     ________________
