Melody Hope Black is a natural extrovert and has been best friends with Seth Clearwater since they were toddlers. Starting of freshmen year, it seemed the only thing she had her mind set on was being a somebody in La Push High. But that all changed when her father's mysterious best friend Henrik dies and his daughter Kristina has to come live with her.

Kristina is everything Melody wants to be. She's beautiful, popular, intelligent and sarcastic in a cool way. She could wear clothes from a dollar store and make it look designer. Unfortunately for Melody, things go downhill from there and her life takes an unexpected turn when she starts having feelings for her childhood best friend, Seth Clearwater.
