Aphrodite Stevens' marriage is in a mess already. Her husband, Roman, is no longer the same person she fell in love with, she struggles to see her friends and family, and the house she wants to love has turned into a prison, much like the one across the road.

Her work life is no easier. Over the years that she has worked at Boston Correctional Institution*, Aphrodite has had the chance to meet many convicts, but none have been able to capture her attention as much as the dangerous and deadly Nixon Hawk. 

Previously believed to be a non-violent and law-abiding person, Nixon Hawk shocked everyone when he was sentenced to life imprisonment for killing his girlfriend and their unborn child. A year after the trial has ended, the man who is now perceived as an aggressive criminal is transferred to a new place as a result of the closure of his last prison. As Aphrodite gets to know more about the enigmatic new arrival, she begins to wonder whether Nixon has been sentenced for a crime that he didn't commit, and strives to find the truth   

As love starts to blossom, will they be able to keep their relationship hidden from Aphrodite's husband, the warden, as well as keeping it alive? Will Aphrodite be able to find the truth? And most importantly of all... can they overcome the bars between them? 

*The prison is not real, I based it off my research on other prisons!
