One night Ludwig gets attacked by what looks to be a centuries old vampire koopa troopa and things have turned upside down. If no longer being out in the sun is bad enough; Ludwig has a much stronger thirst for blood and it threatens to turn both the Mushroom Kingdom and the Darklands into a haven for the undead. Even worse; an empire is out to capture him and do research on him. Whatever research that empire tends to learn about from Ludwig; it can't be good.
