What if something went terribly wrong?
What if Thomas and Teresa never made it to the Maze?
Since Amelia can remember she's been confined. Like a lab rat she was tested on and constantly kept under a watchful eye. Taken from whatever family she had, any life she had, all remnants, erased. Over the years things have slowed down. The same ritual everyday, sleep, wake up, eat, test, and so on.
That is until one day when everything went downhill. WICKED's plans are temporarily disrupted when something happens to two infamous subjects. With the the subjects unable to enter the Maze and WICKED unable to halt their plans, they send in another subject to take their place.
With her memories still in tact.

Imagine Teresa never came up into the maze after Thomas and Thomas isn't the main character. Imagine the box still came up every month with a different boy. What happens when a girl finally comes up how will she affect the daily lives of the gladers. In this fanfic, Newt and Cara are already in a relationship but their situation threatens to pull them apart. Will their love stand the trials brought about by a dying world? Short Summary Newt, Cara, and the rest of the group are rescued from the maze. Cara is given her memories back right before her, Newt and the group escape the WICKED facility. Her loyalty to her friends wavers but she soon realizes that she no longer wants to work for WICKED despite Teresa trying to convince her otherwise. They try to escape the grasp of WICKED as they make their way through the Scorch in search of the Right Arm. Cara struggles with personal issues and traumas that have been brought back along with her memories. Newt tries to hold her hand every step of the way.
