This story takes place in year 2016.
A 18 year-old brown-skin brace face girl who is in the middle of her Junior year of highschool at Shasta High in San Jose, California named Ta'Niya Te'Shae Adams who is a good girl and has very good and supportive friends of her own, but want to try and fit in with other students at school, which didn't work out. She also makes some mistakes in her life of highschool that leads to a shocking result. Her 13 year-old sister on the other hand named Sha'Niya Sha'Tae Adams who is in the 8th grade at Shasta Middle in San Jose, California sticks under her sister no matter the situation and keeps her secrets because she hates to see her get in trouble. Meanwhile their 25 year-old sister Nicole Lovette Adams is in college which is University of California, Los Angeles who they don't get to see on a regular basis. Their father, JaKhel Young, who is in the service and who they have not seen in three years still manage to keep in touch as much as possible with his children and baby mama to help with whatever they need.
