This takes place in a world similar to ours, but the people there are given souls to wear as necklaces inside a glass heart, everyone's soul is worn that way. But there are a few that do not have a soul, those few do not have emotions, they cannot feel anything, happiness, sadness, nothing. In a world where those soulless are outcasts and those with souls prosper, the two coexist. Should two soulless people have a child they too are soulless and vise versa. Never has there ever been an outcast who gains a soul. Never has a proper lost their soul. There's no in between. But one Sarah Kwan is a being born to outcasts, will she be the pillar of true peace for the split society?
