A Poets Diary
I really enjoy writing and I have been writing poems for a while, I'm finally gaining the confidence to share them, some are extremely personal to me and discuss some topics that may make people uncomfortable so please check the tws. Most of them are genuine, and a few are dramatized and/ or are made up completely. It's up to the reader to figure out which are which. That's the beauty of interpretation. The ones that use quotes or I said that whoever said a certain thing are one hundred percent real, I could provide screenshots to prove them. What you never asked
"I pretend I never loved you I will pretend it was never the easiest thing to do I will pretend that I'm over it Pretend I am over you But no one has a fucking clue And I'll throw my popcorn away. Hide my face. Wipe away my tears. I wasn't special enough And that is alright by me." ------------------------ At this point this collection of poems is almost like a diary. I always hated poetry. I like people who are direct and honest. And that's how I prefer literature. I believed myself to be bad at double meanings and metaphors and hated pretty words to cover up the ugly reality. Yet, I found myself being fascinated by it. I think it's the most vulnerable side of me. Wanting to communicate through a medium I think little of and yet understands me. It has no structure. It can be messy and yet beautiful. It's allowed to be unpolished. Wrong quotations. Or even lacking any. At this point in my life I feel like everything I thought was right to be wrong and so maybe something wrong could be right. You haven't even asked for this. And still you know it now. "I am" I certify the one standing in front of me, our proximity making me nervous, but I'm refusing to show any signs of it. "You're testing my patience, princess." He admits as his hands lay lazily on my neck, I smirk at his sentence. "You're either leaving this place with a black eye or a hickey" He announces. "You wouldn't dare to kiss me." I bark back, his smirk growing as mine fades away. "Try me, Rora." This is not just a compilation of poems, prose, monologues and one shot stories, but it is a piece of my heart. Every word, every sentence, and every story in this book has been beautifully assembled over time, with love and care. This is a book filled with a bittersweet mix of emotions that holds a lifetime of memories, feelings and dreams. This book is my return ticket to the past, to the moments and feelings that I once had. It is a way for me to revisit the people I once loved, but had to let go of. It is my way of reconnecting with the ones I have lost touch with, and reliving the memories we shared. Through these words, I have poured my heart out and bared my soul. Each page is a story of my past, present and future, all intertwined with the power of words. They say that a picture is worth a thousand words, but for me, these words are worth a million pictures.
